The hardware a reader will need for this. Honestly going to tell them to start cheap. Get a raspberrypi, buy a cheap old PC off FB marketplace, or dig up their old laptop collecting dust in a closet. Or do as I am doing and get a single VPS slice on InterServer.net for $3 a month. If things go really bad there is a reinstall OS button and if I do need more resources, its as simple as add another slice and hit that restart button. Debian/Ubuntu Server/Raspberry Pi OS Lite dont require many resources and running Nginx with a simple website that is intended to make sure our server works right doesnt either. Especially since we wont expect many visitors yet.
